November 14, 2011 - Approximately 50 of the high school’s most talented, community-minded and courageous young men will compete for the pageant crown and a $1,000 donation to the charity of their choice during the Mr. GHS Pageant at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, December 3. (The event was listed incorrectly for Dec. 2 in the district calendar).
The Goshen High School Class of 2012 will host the pageant as a class fundraiser designed to highlight students’ talents and personalities while raising money for a number of charitable causes. The pageant is narrowed to 10 semifinalists who will participate in talent, swimwear and evening wear competitions in grand pageant style. Josh Shih, who was named Mr. GHS 2011, will be on hand to crown the new winner.
The cast of contestants are supported by the glamorous “Goshenettes,” who sing, dance and back the boys throughout the pageant.
Each of the 10 semifinalists will earn money for their respective charities, which support a number of important causes on both the local, state and national level. Charities that have been represented during past Mr. GHS Pageants include the Erin Ortiz Scholarship Foundation, Brittany Miller Foundation, Youth Ending Hunger, Goshen Humane Society and March of Dimes.
