November
28, 2011 - The Goshen High School Leo Club held its first annual
Walk for the Goshen Ecumenical Food Pantry on Saturday, November 19
at the Goshen High School Cross Country Trail.
Nearly 100 participants joined the walk, and approximately 400 canned food items as well as $147 were donated by participants for the food pantry.
According to President Rachel Radovich-Chu, “This and other projects will allow Leos to meet pressing needs in our community. This holiday season is a time for us to give back more to those in need and strengthen the bonds with the community. Leo members thank everyone who contributed to this important work. You are truly helping Leos make a difference in our community.”
Participants include the CJH Leo Club members as well as members of the GHS Environmental Club, Interact, National Honor Society, Student Senate and Varsity Club.
Several members of the Goshen community also participated in this event, including Mayor Kyle Roddey, Superintendent of Schools Daniel T. Connor, C. J. Hooker Middle School Principal William Rolon, C. J. Hooker Middle School Guidance Counselor Jennifer Blake, members of Goshen Lion’s Club, and several family members and special neighbors.
The Walk for the Goshen Ecumenical Food Pantry was coordinated by Leo Club President Rachel Radovich-Chu and Events Coordinator Erin Collins, as well as Goshen High School Faculty Advisor Mary-Jo Budd, Coach Robert McIntee and Coach J. B. Russo.
