Fourth grade girls, mothers invited to Mother-Daughter Tea

January 9, 2012 - The Mother-Daughter Tea for fourth grade girls will be held at 6:30 p.m. January 11 at the Goshen Intermediate School. The Mother-Daughter Tea is a a special evening for mothers and their daughters to share together the important changes that are just ahead.

Presentation on feminine body changes:

  • Hormones associated with puberty; pre-menstruation

  • Hygiene – general and those associated with gland changes

  • Emphasis will be placed on the idea of individual uniqueness and differences, thinking for one’s self, and preparation for pre-adult life

  • Importance of talking with family regarding self-esteem and peer pressure

Additional Information

This special event is open to fourth grade girls and their parents/guardians only. Unfortunately, due to the sensitive nature of the presentations, no student will be allowed to participate without returning a completed parent permission form which was due back by January 9. A parent/guardian is required to attend. All student questions will be answered according to appropriateness for fourth grade students. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a towel to use as an exercise mat.
