February 10, 2012 – Kindergarten students at the Scotchtown Avenue Elementary School recently created valentines for seniors. The valentines will be delivered to those who receive services from Meals on Wheels.
Materials for the valentines were purchased using a gift card donated by Michaels Stores, Inc.
The project was spearheaded by kindergarten teachers Susan Doyle, Margaret Goetze and Tara Eber, who obtained materials for all kindergarten students to make Valentines. More than 180 seniors will be the recipients of these handmade greetings.
The students received a Certificate of Appreciation for their efforts, signed by Meals on Wheels Programs & Services of Rockland, Inc. President & CEO Barbara Kohlhausen and Volunteer Coordinator Marissa Moscatello.
