Grace Leva wins The Spirit of Success Award

June 11, 2012 - Grace Leva, a second grade student at the Scotchtown Avenue Elementary School, was recently honored by the Orange County Youth Bureau.

Grace was nominated for the The Spirit of Success Award by her teacher, Pat Kuttler. The award is given to young people who have experienced difficulty during their lives and have worked hard to overcome these obstacles. Grace was diagnosed in March 2010 with a malignant brain tumor.

Grace, her family, and a number of Scotchtown Avenue faculty and staff members attended a luncheon at Brookside Manor where Grace received her award from County Executive Edward Diana.
