August 25, 2011 - It is with great excitement and eagerness that I write this letter to you to welcome you to the 2011-12 school year!
My name is Amy Peluso and I am honored to be serving the Goshen Community in the role of Principal of Scotchtown Avenue School. As you are aware, Mrs. Daria Murphy, the former principal, retired in June. She has left a beautiful building and some sizable shoes to fill!
Mrs. Murphy and I were fortunate enough to be able to work together for a time to ease the transition and to ensure an optimal and seamless learning experience for the children. Most importantly, though, I stand beside an incredibly devoted, skilled, and committed faculty and staff. They are on the “front lines” each and every day, and I am confident that you will be highly impressed by the work that they do with your children.
The 2011-12 Family Guide serves as a guide for the school year, policies, and procedures of the Scotchtown Avenue Elementary School, and the greater Goshen School District at large. It is my hope that this guide will be a helpful resource for you and your child as we proceed through the school year.
If there is anything I can do to help throughout the school year, or if you find yourself with a question or suggestion, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I can be reached by the following methods:
E-mail: apeluso@gcsny.org
Phone: 845-615-6600
I look forward to a productive year of new partnerships and a child-centered education for which Scotchtown is so well-known!
Yours in education,
Amy M. Peluso, principal
