Goshen Schools celebrates Opening Day

September 4, 2012 – The Goshen Central School District celebrated its Opening Day ceremonies on Tuesday, September 4, in anticipation of the first day of school for students on Thursday, September 6. The ceremony included a welcome from Superintendent Daniel T. Connor and Board of Education President James Kimiecik.

During the ceremony, building principals and department heads honored several faculty and staff members for serving the students of our district for 20 years or more. The following employees were honored for their years of service to Goshen Schools:

35 years of service

  • Carole Griffin, Academic Intervention Services teacher at Scotchtown Avenue Elementary School

30 years of service

  • Florence Crawn, school bus driver

  • Janice Gracey, school bus driver

25 years of service

  • Diane Bigg, guidance counselor at C. J. Hooker Middle School

  • Patricia Capocciamo, sixth grade teacher at C. J. Hooker Middle School

  • Casey Hulick, music teacher at C. J. Hooker Middle School

  • Frank Kowalczyk, maintenance worker for Buildings and Grounds

  • Eileen Nelson, teacher aide at C. J. Hooker Middle School

  • Sheryl Reese, librarian at Goshen High School

  • Christopher Tucci, art teacher at Goshen High School

20 years of service

  • Linda Clavelle, cook manager at Goshen High School

  • Andrew Krish, math teacher at Goshen High School

  • Miriam Mordoh, special education teacher at C. J. Hooker Middle School

  • Mary Nuara, Academic Intervention Services teacher at C. J. Hooker Middle School

  • Jessica Weir, special education teacher at Goshen High School

  • William Wright, custodial worker at Goshen High School
