What is
Math Academic Intervention Services?

Academic Intervention
Services is being provided to give you extra help in
Math. You will be receiving additional
instruction on lessons you've learned in your core
math classes as well as reviewing basic math skills
that are key to comprehension and understanding.
We are here to help you succeed in math!
Why Am I In Math AIS?
New York State requires that students
achieve a passing Level 3 or 4 on the annual state
math exam. When a child is not meeting these
levels, school districts must
provide additional support in the form of Academic
Intervention Services. This service will
support students in efforts to pass the state exams
as well as improve mathematical understanding
throughout the year. The next round of NYS testing will begin the week of March 9th, 2009.

CLASSROOM
RULES
These rules
are designed by both the teachers and the students.
We believe that when we develop the rules together,
we will achieve a better understanding of classroom
expectations.
1.
When someone is speaking (student or teacher) give
him/her your full attention.
2. Stay in
your seat unless you've asked for permission to go
to the bathroom or sharpen a pencil. If you
need to get up choose a good time to do so. In
other words, don't sharpen your pencil in the middle
of a teacher's important discussion.
3. RECYCLE
as much as possible and DO NOT WASTE PAPER!!!!!
4. Be kind
to each other and treat others as you would like to
be treated.
5. Come to
class on time and be ready to learn.
