My "Comunidad Moodle" will help you learn Spanish
while interacting with others. In Moodle we will
include our Power Point Projects, our Story Telling
Projects, and our videos. We will also include our
essays in Spanish about different topics. In my
Moodle community you will find widgets, Vokis,
web-links and videos from teachertube.

What is Web 2.0?
Web 2.0 is web application
that facilitates sharing information as well as
collaboration on the World Wide Web. Some examples
of Web 2.0 include social networking sites, blogs,
wikis, forums, vokies, web applications, etc.
In my class we will use the forum
in Moodle to interact with other students within our
classroom. In the forum section of Moodle we will
discuss holidays in Spanish speaking countries.
Also, students will collaborate to create a
wiki-grammar and a wiki-cooking for our class. The
wiki section in Moodle will allow students to
collaborate and create grammar concepts and new
vocabulary words about different topics we will be
learning in class. The Glossary in my Moodle
page will help students collaborate and create
vocabulary lists for everyone to use. Students will
create a Voki account, with parent’s
authorization, to give voice, in Spanish, to
avatars. Finally, we will use EDU.Glogster to
create online posters, and to write essays about
various topics. Glogster allows students to add
music, graphics, videos and links to their essays.
Students will learn a new lingo related to Moodle
with words like: upload, link, embed, discuss,
collaborate, submit, view, etc.

Students will use a rough draft written in class
using a rubric and they will add music, links and
pictures. Finally students will link their glogs to
my Moodle page.

Voki
Register on the Voki site (parent authorization
required). This site will be used to record two oral
lessons in Spanish. Students will create an avatar
based on a rubric and a dialogue given in class.
Finally, students will embed their avatar in my
Moodle page.
Please view the links posted on my Moodle
page about online safety, copyright and
netiquette. Discuss the importance of these
topics at home with your son/daughter. Thank you so

Register in the Voki site. This site will be
used to record your not only your final speaking
lesson in Spanish, but also short oral lessons about different
topics.
