May 27, 2009 - Goshen High School seniors Katie MacDonald and Alex Finkelstein were honored with 2008-09 Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association (OCIAA) Senior Scholar-Athlete Awards. The OCIAA annually honors a male and female student from each of its schools based on academic, athletic and extracurricular accomplishments.

Katie MacDonald has a grade point average of 98.847 and is ranked in the Top 6. She participates in volleyball, basketball and track, as well as National Honor Society, National Foreign Language Honor Society and Odyssey of the Mind. She will attend Siena College in the fall. Katie is the daughter of Pat and Rich MacDonald of New Hampton.

Alex Finkelstein has a grade point average of 101.267 and is ranked in the Top 6. He participates in tennis and soccer, as well as Odyssey of the Mind, blood drive, National Honor Society, National Foreign Language Society and the school musical. He will attend Northwestern University in the fall. Alex is the son of Joel Finkelstein and Bonna Horovitz of Goshen.
