I keep my grading policy fairly simple...
Homework counts 20% of each marking period
Assessments count 80% of each marking
period grade and are weighted according to length of test.
- Completed (great effort) 'on time'
homework will earn full credit- 10 points.
- 'Tried it, but didn't get it'
homework will earn 7 points if corrected by the end of
- No homework earns 0 points.
Late homework is not accepted.
- Two lowest homework assignments per
marking period will be dropped.
Students have the opportunity to make
up missed work due to an absence. Students have as many
days as they were absent.
Students absent on a
day, yet present for presentation of all new
material, WILL NOT be exempt from the test on the day of
their return to school.
Students absent FROM CLASS for any
reason, yet IN SCHOOL, WILL BE responsible to hand in
any work due or take any scheduled assessment.
