BUSINESS MATHEMATICS

Grade 10 - 12
A full year
course where students apply math skills in
everyday life: some of the topics covered:
Calculation of paycheck, commission, payroll,
federal and state income taxes, budgets,
checking accounts, saving accounts, money
market, CD accounts, loans, installments loans
APR, credit cards and finance charges,
comparative shopping, mortgage payments,
property taxes, property insurance, buying and
leasing a car, vehicle depreciation, car
insurance, life insurance, and health insurance,
and health insurance. This course may be
used as the third math credit for graduation.
This course is correlated to the Jump$tart
Coalition's National Standards for Personal
Financial Literacy.
