Our goal is to
encourage our students to read and respond to a
variety of literature. They will discuss, think
and write about the ideas they are exposed to in
the literature they read. They will continue to
develop their writing skills by writing in many
formats and exploring ways to communicate their
thoughts and ideas. Student involvement is
essential toward meeting these goals.
Ultimately, our hope is to create lifelong
learners who will enjoy reading for pleasure,
knowledge and be able to communicate their
knowledge through written and verbal means.

Classroom Rules
Students are expected to:
-
Be prepared for class
-
If absent, it is the student's
responsibility to find out what work was
missed.
-
The old saying "Respect has to be earned" is
wrong. Respect should be automatic. We will
be polite and respect others at all times.
-
It is important to be on time for class.
Repeated lates will result in detention,
referral, and a phone call home.
-
Each illegal absence will result in a phone
call home.
-
Absence from an assigned detention will
result in two detentions and a phone call
home.
-
Further absence from a detention will result
in a referral.
-
Any work missed or assignments not handed in
because of an illegal absence will count as
a zero.
