I can't believe it is already October!
We have finished our first geography unit. We have
also been reviewing American history through the
Revolutionary War. We will continue our review of
Social Studies in preparation for the State Social
Studies test in November. During October we will
begin working on DBQ writing. We have just begun
our study of ecosystems. Students will need to bring to
school a clear 2 liter soda bottle for our enclosed
ecosystems. In math we have worked on place value, addition and
subtraction of decimals and graphing and data.
It is important to know facts in all areas of math.
Multiplication will be used daily for the rest of the
year! In ELA we have been working in small groups
for spelling and reading. We have been writing in
our writing notebooks daily and will soon be ready to
choose a piece for publishing. I look forward to
seeing everyone at parent conferences at the end of
November. If you were not able to sign up at
parent orientation, I will be contacting you to arrange
a time.
