Welcome The Beauty and the Beast Storytellers!
Our yearly Literacy
Festival was held from May 4-8th. Our theme
this year was "Stories From Around the World". We
enjoyed a visit from a husband and wife storytelling
team known as "The Beauty and the Beast Storytellers".
Mitch Weiss and Martha Hamilton hail from Ithaca, NY and
were happy to return to Goshen Intermediate School after
traveling around the world for many years.
They entertained the students with stories they have
learned from their travels. They are also authors
and recording artists, having written many books and cds
for teachers and children, helping them to develop their
storytelling skills. Mitch and Martha
have been telling stories professionally for almost 30
years. In truth, however, they have been
telling stories all their lives and believe that it is
something anyone with a little encouragement and
practice can do. On their website they offer tips
for telling stories and storytelling games for all ages.
