visited the students at Scotchtown Avenue Elementary
School with their book, Harry the
Caterpillar.

About the Author:
Harry the Caterpillar
is a book that children will want to read and relate to
over and over again. Author Michelle M. Birkenstock
grew up in Newburgh, NY, where she was surrounded by the
region’s natural beauty. She continues to live there
with her husband and children. Look forward to
additional children’s books by Michelle Birkenstock.
She has more stories to tell and more lessons to teach. |

Dave Ross visited Scotchtown Avenue Elementary School on Wednesday, April 9th, 2008.
Mr. Ross is the author and illustrator of over thirty
books for children, including the bestselling A Book
of Hugs and A Book of Friends. He has
spent many years working with children and currently
runs two community organizations for children.

Author and illustrator
Marie LeTourneau visited Scotchtown Avenue
Elementary School classes. She is the illustrator
of Is A Worry Worrying You? and the author and
illustrator of The Mice of Bistrot des Sept Freres.
Mrs. LeTourneau read her book, The Mice of Bistrot des Sept Freres
to the students and introduced them to "Mission: Nutrition -
Healthy Food Choices." |

Author, Alan
Lewis, visited Scotchtown Avenue Elementary
School on Wednesday, April 18th and Thursday,
April 19th. Students had the
opportunity to meet Mr. Lewis, discover the joys
of writing, and learn about our local history
and agriculture. |

I Grew Up
On A Farm is an autobiographical sketch of
life on a working farm in Middletown, NY during
the 1950s. It is written by local author,
Alan Lewis and illustrated by local artist, Bob
Fletcher. |

Williams, visited Scotchtown Avenue
School on March 27th. This was a great
ending to our PARP month, "Paws" for a Good
Book, and a wonderful opportunity for the
students to meet an author! |
