Palm Pilot Software

The following is a list of the educational software that is available for use on the Palm Pilots at Scotchtown Avenue School:

  1. Bunny Math – Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division.  The bunny moves along toward the

 

                       finish line for each correct answer given.

    2.   Giraffe – Write letters using the Graffiti strokes (follow graphic on inside of Palm cover) before the letter

                       falls to the bottom of the screen.  Good for teaching students how to write letters on the Palms.

  1. Memo – Take notes, practice spelling, sight words, write short stories and beam or download and print. 

                       Students use Graffiti strokes to write words.

  1. Note Pad – Draw, beam, practice writing letters, numbers, sight words, anything.  Students can beam

                       math facts, pictures, words, etc. to each other. 

      5.   Shape Up - Students must be able to read.  Two different identifying shapes games.  Move the shape

                       back to its spot by giving directions, left, right, up, down, flip, rotate.  Properties can be set to

                       customize shapes in games.

  1. Spell It – Play games with your spelling words.  Add a spelling list with your words for the week and then

                       select a game to play with the words on the list.  Lists can be beamed to each Palm.

  1. Timer Math Facts – Timed math game using addition, subtraction, multiplication or division.  Students

     

                 get 1 minute and 30 seconds to answer as many facts as they can.

                                                    

  1. Letter Draw - Students practice writing upper and lower case letters and numbers.  The program shows

                       the student how the letter/number is formed then leaves a space for student to write the

                       letter/number.  Options for dotted line letter/number for student to trace or blank space for

                       student to write on his/her own.

  1. Sketchy – Draw a picture, adding colors and details to the picture on each new page.  The drawing is

                       turned into  an animation.
