It is that time of year again! Where did the summer go? Welcome back all C. J. Hooker students and parents and a special welcome to our new incoming sixth graders and their families.

The C. J. Hooker PTO is looking forward to an exciting 2008-09 school year. Join us at our first PTO meeting meeting at 7 p.m. September 18 in the CJH library. The meeting is open to all parents. Ideas for the upcoming school year, annual budget and on-going school events will be on the agenda.

Important Dates

• Sept. 12: Welcome Back Dance for seventh and eighth grade students
• Sept. 18: First PTO meeting at 7 p.m. in the library
• Sept. 23-24: Book Fair in the library
• Sept. 23: Sixth Grade Open House and PTO Membership Drive
• Sept. 24: Seventh and Eighth Grade Open House and Membership Drive
• Sept. 26: Sixth Grade Recreation Night, 4-6 p.m.

Please join the C. J. Hooker PTO! The cost is $5 and is beneficial in providing various activities and events for our students. The membership form can be downloaded from the C. J. Hooker PTO website and either dropped off during the membership drive or sent to the school, attention Sheila Heal. Sign up to volunteer and assist upcoming PTO events, which are listed as part of the membership form. The support from our families and teachers is the collaborative energy that fuels our children.
