Grade Break Down
A breakdown of how students
earn their math grade:
*
"Do-Now"- Students
need to be on time, in their seat with their
materials copying
and
solving the Aim and Do-Now in their binder. Students
can earn one
point, ½ a point or no points each day of class.
(5% of total grade.)
* Homework- Students turn in homework when it is
due and have made an
attempt to answer all of the problems. Students can
earn one point per
assignment, ½ a point if it is late, or no points if
it is not received.
(10%
of total grade.)
* Classwork/Participation - Students work will be
randomly selected to be graded.
If
you are taking notes and paying attention you will
have no problems with this work. Students should be
attentive, follow rules, follow along with class,
and respect themselves and each other.
(15%
of total grade.)
* Quizzes- Usually
one a week on the material from the previous week. This gives
students many
opportunities to improve their
grades. Quizzes are kept in the students files, and
can be viewed by
student or guardian upon
request.
(15% of grade.)
* Tests- Usually
one or two each marking period.
(20% of
grade.)
* Projects- The
students will work on in-class and at-home projects
throughout
the semester. These are an
opportunity for students
to work with a group, improve their skills, and boost their grades.
(20%
of grade.)
ABSENCES- Students are responsible for classwork and homework missed while they were out.
