This year we have added three new courses to our business department! We are excited to announce that we will now be offering...
Our goal is the business department is to provide the student with 'real-life' experiences and education.
It is rare to hear a business student ask "When am I going to use this?" Whether it is calculating interest on a car loan or interning at a local accounting firm, the Goshen High School Business Department always attempts to provide an opportunity for students, themselves, to make a contribution to their learning.
I’m looking forward to a great school year!
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Marketing Education from The State University of New York at Oswego in 2003. Upon completing my Bachelor’s Degree, I began my teaching career as a GED Instructor in upstate NY. Shortly thereafter, I took a position as a long-term substitute in Business Education at Fort Plain High School. In January, when my long term position ended, I began my Master’s Degree in School Counseling. I completed 21 credits in School Counseling before withdrawing from the program to pursue my MBA. In 2005, I was hired as a full-time Business and Marketing teacher at Oneonta High School, in Oneonta, NY, where I spent the majority of my career. During my tenure, I served at the Yearbook Advisor, Student Government Advisor, JV Football Cheerleading Coach, JV and Varsity Basketball Cheerleading Coach, and , participated in many school and community activities. In 2006, I was nominated and awarded the NYS Outstanding Business Teacher of the Year Award, which was more than an honor. I received my MBA from the College of Saint Rose in 2008. In 2012, budget cuts forced the layoff of 15 teachers from Oneonta and I decided to leave high school education. For a short time, I worked in Accounts Payable/Receivable for a Brooklyn-based company and then landed at SUNY Maritime working in administration for the Global Business and Transportation Department. In 2013, I applied for the position at Goshen High School and was fortunate enough to be hired. The time that I’ve spent at Goshen has been very special and extremely rewarding. It is truly a fantastic district and I feel lucky that Goshen is my new home. I have coached Cheerleading for the district and continue to coach JV Softball. I have most recently begun the Career Internship course at the high school as well.
