PHYSICS 01
1 Credit

Regents Physics is a college preparatory course that closely follows the New York State Core Curriculum Guide. The course content includes such topics as motion, forces, energy, sound and light waves, electricity and magnetism. Students also perform a wide variety of laboratory activities that parallel the classroom topics as closely as possible, culminating in a final lab trip to Dorney Park or Six Flags. Students must take the NYS Regents Physics Exam. It is recommended that the student be currently enrolled in, or have completed, Trigonometry.

AP PHYSICS B
1 Credit

This course is aligned with the AP Physics B exam curriculum. The course content includes such topics as motion, forces, energy, sound and light waves, electricity and magnetism, which are covered in the Regents curriculum, as well as thermodynamics, geometric optics, and fluid mechanics. Students also perform a wide variety of laboratory activities that parallel the classroom topics as closely as possible, culminating in a final lab trip to Dorney Park or Six Flags Great Adventure. Students are expected to take the AP physics B exam in May, and must take the NYS Regents Physics Exam. It is recommended that the student be currently enrolled in, or have completed, Precalculus.
