Track 2009-10: Another season runs to an end

winter track season has come to an end. Starting in
the second week of November and ending in the first
week of March is a long period of time, but it flew

March breakfast, lunch menus now
available online
March 1, 2010
- The
March breakfast and lunch
menus give our students the fuel they need
to get through the day! The menus offer a variety of
choices, from pizza to burgers, salads and
sandwiches, so every student is sure to find
something delicious -- and nutritious! In fact,
school lunches provide one-third of the recommended
dietary intake for calories, protein and vitamins A
and C, iron and calcium. The

High school, modified spring sports seasons begin in March
March 1,
2010 - Springtime seems so
far away, but the high school and modified spring
sports season is right around the corner. High
school spring sports begin on Monday, March 8, and
modified spring sports start the following week on
Monday, March 15.

Science Olympiad to compete in State Competition
February 11, 2010 – The Goshen High School
Science Olympiad Team placed second at the regional
competition on February 6 at SUNY Ulster. They will
compete in the state competition on March 19-20 at
West Point.

Robert
Karchawer recognized by Harvard-Radcliffe Club
February 9, 2010 – Robert Karchawer, social
studies teacher at the Goshen High School, was
recently recognized by the Harvard-Radcliffe Club of
the Hudson Valley for the exceptional impact he made
on a former student, who is now a senior at Harvard
University.

Physical Education Department names Students of the
Month
February
8, 2010 – The Physical Education Department of
the Goshen High School has named its Physical
Education Students of the Month for January.
Students were nominated by their physical education
teachers to receive this honor. Each student
received a T-shirt.

Goshen
graduate emphasizes hard
work for success
February 1, 2010 – On January 15, Goshen
alumnus Paul Czech spoke to juniors and seniors at
Goshen High School. Czech, a 1979 graduate, was a
self-proclaimed troublemaker who didn’t care about
school. “I was a complete bum,” he said.
